That class 14…

You may remember a couple of posts back I mentioned a Heljan class 14 I had purchased second hand at a price to good to refuse.

As a nice quick project to push through the workshop, I got on with this one straight away. Work carried out included removal of some of the factory weathering, replacement of the terrible Heljan headcode blinds with some nicer items from Precision Decals. The cab interior was then given a coat of Matt black (I’ve never understood beige cab interiors as supplied by most manufacturers) and the large coupling holes in the bufferbeam were filled with some plasticard.

After renumbering, into BR on one side and a new industrial identity on the other, the model was re weathered and is now just awaiting a BR roundel before being ready for traffic.

Cheers, Chris.
